Description:
Up for consideration is a fairly nice 1886 in the 40-82 caliber. The condition of this rifle is little above average. There are still some case colors showing on the frame as well as the lever and hammer. The wood has some small bruises but is very good condition and proud as it should be. It looks to be a select wood grain above average. The 26" barrel has very little of its original blue and has aged brownish.There are a couple of rust spots on mag tube and barrel. The bore would rate an 8 out of 10. The gun does shoot very accurate with reloaded copper gas check cast or with factory turn of the century ammo, (Less that 2 inch group of 3 at 100y). The rifle is a standard configuration of octagon barrel and plain trigger. It sports special order sights of a Beeches combination front sight with ivory bead and an original tang sight. I have owned this gun for quite a few years. With the sale I will send a set of reloading dies, 40 rounds of reloaded ammo at factory speeds.(1580 ft/sec) If interested I do have some factory brass and at least one box of aftermarket loads maybe even factory I can't remember.
