Muster 1849 Austro-Hungarian Army (k.k. Army) Kammerbuchse (chamber rifle), a.k.a. Garabaldi Rifle. .71 caliber. Verey nice condition and fully functional. These guns were converted from System Augustin tubelock to caplock in Liege, Belgium, prior to shipment to America during the Civil War. In Austrian service Kammerbuchsen were used to arm the first two ranks in Jäger battalions, the third rank in Grenz regiments, and some specialist troops such as engineers, pioneers, etc. ? Kammerbuchse were extensively used in the West, and continued in service with state militia units - particularly in Wisconsin and Missouri - for years after the War.
