"One of the Major Prizes of a S&W collection," to quote Flayderman at 5G-065. Excellent condition; 18 inch barrel #680 of only 977. Made1879 to 1887. Called the Buntline Special of Smith & Wesson. In a period case as pictured; not factory. A scarce and unusual find and the first cased example we have seen in 25 years in the business. Bore is great and the action is too and tight.
