BRILLIANT SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1884 .45-70 CAL TRAPDOOR RIFLE. 100% original and in superb condition with 98% of the original blue finish on the lock, barrel and mounts. Serial number in the 4xx,xxx range. Lock with crisp “U.S./SPRINGFIELD” and “EAGLE” stamp. Breech block stamped “US/MODEL/1873”. Stock with all the original finish and clearly visible “SWP/1888” cartouche and regiment number “17” stamped on the left butt near the plate. Original Buffington rear sight. Original cleaning rod. Perfect working order and mint bore.
