SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1873 .45-70 CAL. TRAPDOOR INFANTRY RIFLE. Serial number in the 78,xxx range. All original and complete late series Model 1873 with arsenal upgrade Model 1879 stock with “SWP/1883” cartouche. Grey metal with good markings. Lock stamped “EAGLE/U.S./SPRINGFIELD/1873” Breechblock dated 1873 as well. Stock with dents and dark staining but has a visible cartouche. Working order and excellent bore. Original ramrod.
