COLT MODEL 1851 NAVY CONVERSION .38 RF CAL. REVOLVER WITH FACTORY PEARL GRIPS. Factory conversion numbered in it’s own serial range. Only about 3800 made in the 1870’s. All original and complete with exception of the trigger guard screw. Barrel shortened to 4 ¼” and wedge screw a very old replacement. Scarce factory two piece mother of pearl grips. Serial numbers in the 2,xxx range all matching with correct different assembly numbers on the conversion parts. Very good overall with dark brown-black patina. Good Colt one line “New York” address on barrel. 1871-1872 patent dates on the left side of the frame. Grips with chips missing from the toe and heal of one flat and the toe of the other. Working order and dark bore.
