Description:
*SOLD*   Winchester Low Wall Deluxe in .22 short with a 28" #3 barrel. According to factory data this rifle left the factory with a 26" #2 octagonal barrel in .22 short. Originally shipped 4-1-1889; it was returned only 3 days later, probably for some repair; then returned in Jan 1903 when possibly the #3 barrel was installed. The barrel has turned to a mottled gray patina and the bore is fair but shootable with intact rifling. I used to shoot this at a local indoor Schuetzen match.
This Low Wall also sports a single set trigger, a Marbles tang sight and a bead front sight, likely not original as the tang sight has a 03 Pat. date and the front was originally a globe.
The wood is in excellent condition with nice figure in the forend and especially the butt while terminating in a well fitting butt plate that shows some traces of case color.
The receiver is a nice patina with traces of case color still visible.
All in all a respectable Low Wall Deluxe that you can still shoot.
