1945 Colt Service Model Ace.
I purchased this pistol for my collection just a few months back. It is the only military pistol i have and although a beautiful example
It just doenst fit in my collection. The gun is in outstanding original condition with the correct Parko Lubrite finish that i believe was only
applied to the Ace model in 1945. This Ace has the very late J.S.B inspectors innitials of John S. Begley, highly desireable, on the left side and the small ordance crossed cannons acceptance on the right. Has the correct Stevens adjustable rear sight and the tall serrated ramp front sight. I have had the gun inspected by a respected Colt author. Everything is correct to the gun excluding the grips. He believes they should have a thicker circle band for the screw.These are not uncommon and are easily attainable. It didnt bother me so i will let the next owner make the change if so desired. Original condition is in rare air at 98% Difficult to improve on this late example of the Colt Service Model Ace..
