This is a Pre War K22 Masterpiece, NOT an Outdoorsman. Yes! We actually have one...and its REALLY neat! Just over 1000 of these were made by Smith & Wesson in 1940 and they are now exceedingly scarce. This example is very pretty and also mechanically excellent, including the bore, rifling, chambers. In the pictures, one can easily see the wear spots in the blueing (behind muzzle both sides, "hump" at top of backstrap) and the dings on the bottoms of the grips. Grips ARE numbered to the gun, and numbers match across the pistol's assemblies and components. Hammer and trigger case colors are still strong and vibrant, and you can see the correct short throw stepped hammer. Action is slick and crisp as one would expect and lock-up is nice and tight. So, here's your chance to own the elusive Pre War K-22 Masterpiece, matching, original and gorgeous!
