This is a handsome revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, barrel, extractor, and yoke with the metal retaining 92-95% of the original parkerized finish with some mild fading on the sides of the barrel, along the exposed edges, and a light turn-ring on the cylinder. Scattered spots of light freckling are present on a few of the cylinder chambers, but these are minor. The hammer, trigger, and lanyard swivel have a commensurate amount of the original color case-hardening remaining and the smooth walnut grips (correct, but numbered to a different gun on the interior) are in very good shape with some minor handling marks and blemishes marring the original oil finish. The topstrap is marked with a U.S. Ordnance Dept. “flaming bomb”, and “US PROPERTY GHD” inspection stamp to the left of the sighting channel. An additional, post-war civilian police issue marking: “WAPD14”, is stamped in large letters on the left side of the frame below the cylinder latch. We have thus far been unable to confirm the department. This is a very nice, World War II and police marked Victory Model in fine plus condition overall.
