Description:
Serial #82802, .45 ACP, 5ā€ barrel with a very good bore that has some minor freckling within the grooves. This is a 1915-made pistol that retains about 70-75% of the original blue finish that has faded to freckled gray along the frontstrap and trigger guard bow, as well as silvered along the projecting edges and bearing surfaces. There are additional small handling and usage marks towards the rear of the frame, and the usual curved disassembly scratch underneath the slide lever on the left side. The pistol has correct ā€œSā€ marked trigger, magazine release, sear, disconnector, safety, grip safety, mainspring housing, hammer, barrel, extractor, firing pin plate, and barrel bushing. The checkered double-diamond walnut grips match the condition of the rest of the pistol and have moderate wear around the edges, general flattening to the points, and a spot where the wood has been worn smooth at the top of the left panel. The original Springfield-made lanyard loop magazine has traces of the original blue remaining along the bottom 1/4 of the body, while the remainder has an overall mottled gray patina with darker patches of freckling. This is a great looking, all original Springfield Armory Model 1911 and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
