Description:
U.S. Model 1861 musket rifle Dated 1862 on lock and 1864 on barrel. Manufactured by Alfred Jenks & Son. Lock was marked Philadelphia. Bore is bright and excellent. This is a New Jersey Militia Rifle-Musket and is marked N.J. on both the barrel and stock. Barrel shows some surface stains but no pitting. Gun appears to be unissued but stored away, got some light surface rust and cleaned off. For an 1861 this is really very fine and very good looking.
