Description:
Have another Second Series Nagoya Army Arsenal Toriimatsu Factory pistol, this one is dated March 1944. It was not much longer before the factory changed the grips to non grooved smooth style, commonly called slab sided grips. Again, all matched numbers with the magazine being mismatched. The magazine is a correct blued body style for this time frame and date. The pistol's condition I would rate at 98% plus. This pistol has some wear at the top of the receiver from cocking the pistol. The wear is very faint. There is also very slight holster wear by the muzzle. This pistol appears to be in unfired condition. Overall, a real super pistol! I just cannot stress enough just how hard it is to find really nice Nambus! The holster is in very fine to exellent condition. The shoulder strap is also in fine to excellent condition. There is a piece of paper glued under the cover stating the gun's serial number which is 22253 the pistol that is in the holster is 22053. Also, it is issued to the 7th Cavalry. The last row Is too confusing to translate, but at the bottom of the row of characters is the name of the person this rig was issued to. I have a neighbor who is Japanese and he did his best to translate the old style Japanese of the war era. Under the front ammunition pouch cover is inscribed Sgt. Reatams and his serial number. Included is a original spare firing pin and combination cleaning rod loading tool. It is very difficult to find a holster that has any kind of documentation or who it was issued to! This is a nice rare rig for the collector, for this holster has the name of the person it was issued to and the name of the soldier who "liberated" this rig! This will be difficult to "top" for historical interest. Search for Harry Viezens on google.
