Italian 1870/87/16 Vetterli Carcano Infantry 6.5x52 Carcano caliber rifle. Originally produced in 1881 in 10.35x47R caliber as a single shot. Converted to the Vitali magazine system around 1890. In 1916 it was converted to 6.5 Carcano y lining the barrel and installing a Carcano type magazine. The stock serial number matches the barrel serial number. The bore has strong rifling and is dark in the grooves. Very good wood. Very good overall condition. NOT FOR FIRING.
