Description:
This is a very clean .54 Cal Adams Model 1851, factory engraved, revolver with a 6 3/8 inch barrel. The gun retains about 20-30% of its original blue finish and the original checkered walnut grips have no cracks or chips. The engraving (on the frame, trigger guard, and grip cap) was tastefully done and is still attractive. The cylinder numbers to the receiver. The revolver was designed to be double action only with manual safety (safety lever missing on this gun). The action functions well and all nipples are in great condition. The bore is shootable, but rough. Many of these were imported to the US during the Civil War and used by the South. A gun well ahead of its time.
