For sale is an all original 1863 Sharps Carbine issued during the civil war and later converted to 50-70 centerfire. This gun is in fantastic condition with much of the original finish remaining. There is some surface rust on the barrel but no pitting at all. It looks like the rust can be easily brushed off to show the original bluing but I never wanted to mess with it. The bore has very strong rifling the entire length with some very light surface pitting. I have fired about 15 rounds from it and it is still very accurate. The action very tight and the lever operation is smooth. As you can see in the pictures the wood is nearly perfct save a few dings from being used for more than 150 years. From my research on the SN believe it was made in early 1864. All of the markings are correct. I was not able to get pictures of the stamps on the barrel because they are faded but still visible in good light. The sights are original with correct markings but the rear is missing the original slide so I will include a reproduction slide from Taylors & Co. No FFL is required since it is an antique. I am including a padded case and a 50 caliber rope cleaner and pull through brush for the bore.
