Description:
Sako Model AIII Custom built Rifle in 7mm Remington Magnum. Barrel: 24" Douglas premium or Shilen barrel with medium luster blue finish; Stock: High grade, nicely figured walnut stock with medium luster oil fiinish, fleur de lis checkering, dark brown (near black) hardwood forend cap, blued steel pistol grip cap, beaded cheek-piece, Pachmayr sling swivel set (anchors only, missing swivels) and a brown Pachmayr recold pad. The original factory floorplate and trigger-guard were customized with scroll engraving and a pewter rams head. The Sako Model AI, II, III and IV were introduced from 1979/80 through 1997. This Sako AIII was custom built in the mid to late 1980s by master gunsmiths, Ed Sweet and Ray Combe, of Intermountain Arms in Meridian, Idaho. Intermountain gunsmith shop was well-known to produced some of the finest custom rifles and shotguns in southwest Idaho. Metal Condition: Very good overall, has a few light scratches and some faint wear/thinning of the blue near the muzzle, and the receiver is beginning to turn plum color. Wood Condition: Very good with some scattered, minor scratches here and there. Bore Condition: Excellent bore, appears to have been lightly shot and is very bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves. Rifle weighs 8 Lbs. 2 Oz.
