Description:
The S&W New Model No. 3 Target Model was made from 1887 to 1910, with 4,333 manufactured. The 6-shot top break revolvers were offered in their own serial number range and fitted with a 6 1/2 inch barrel, an adjustable rear sight, black hard rubber or checkered walnut grips, blue or nickel finished, and chambered in either 32-44 or 38-44. This all numbers matching gun is as described, is blue finished, chambered in 32-44, and fitted with the optional factory pearl grips with gold S&W inset medallions. The gun retains about 60-70% of its original blue finish, with decent screws and a hammer retaining most all of its original color case-hardened finish. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, but does have a couple of areas with very minor corrosion. The attractive pearl grips fit extremely well, with no chips or cracks, and are not loose.
