Offered for your consideration is this fine condition Remington Hepburn No 3 Sporting and Target single shot rifle chambered in the hard to find 32-40 Remington caliber. Barrel is 26 inch octagon with an excellent, bright strong bore. Top barrel flat is marked "E. Remington & Sons", the underside is marked "32.2 1/8". Barrel surfaces retain about 85% original blue finish with scattered areas of thinning plum blue. The rear sight is semi buckhorn sporting style, the front sight is a nickle silver blade. The action retains about 85%+ original bright color case-hardened finish. The trigger guard retains 75- 80% case colors. The hammer and trigger retain brilliant original fire blue finish. The buttplate and forend cap also retain strong original case color finish. The checkered pistolgrip walnut buttstock and plain walnut forend retain about 95% original finish with some loss on forend. There are some light handling marks on the buttstock but none that I would call significant. The adjustable folding Lyman tang mounted peepsight is in factory holes and is marked "PAT. MAY 6/84". One of the better condition Hepburn rifles I've seen in a long time and will make a super addition to your collection. ANTIQUE, no FFL or C&R required.
