This is splendid revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor and retains 98-99% of the original blue finish with only some traces of very mild silvering along a few of the high edges and projections, as well as a mild turn-ring on the rear of the cylinder. The trigger and hammer retain a commensurate amount of the original color case-hardening with the balance faded to an overall bright pewter gray patina. The unnumbered S&W diamond-center grips are in excellent shape with very little wear or flattening of the points, and only a few minor handling marks on either side. As befits a revolver that's this nice, the lock-up is tight and the action functions flawlessly. Included with the revolver is a 2015 dated S&W factory letter that lists a ship date of August 1, 1933, to Carlisle Hardware Co. of Springfield, MA (the letter also confirms the revolver's configuration). This is a wonderful N-frame Smith and would make a terrific addition to any collection.
