Browning 12 GA. B S|S SxS Shotgun, About New, 26 INCH barrels, choked IC/MOD, 3 INCH Mag Chambers, SIngle Selective Trigger, Automatic Ejectors, Solid Raised Filed Rib, Single Bead, Beavertail Forearm, and chopper lump construction, chrome lined barrels, cold forged nickel/chromium/molybdenum steel barrels and receiver-the Famous BROWING SPECIAL STEEL. Beautiful high gloss finish on the wood. Deep Dark Laquered-Like Bluing on the metal and barrels-reminds me of the Royal Blue on the old Colts. Made in Japan, 1980. This Browning was at a clay range twice in the early 1980's and then cleaned and stored. NO DINGS, dents or sratches. It comes with original Browning BSS Shotgun Box, Browning BSS User's Manual, Tissue Paper from the Factory that was used to wrap the barrels, and Original Store Receipt form 1980.

Some History about the BSS
I own and have owned several BSS shotguns and have fired all sorts of round through them, even proof loads. These guns are not steel safe, even with open chokes.
This is as about as good as it gets when looking for a Browning B-S|S Shotgun. A true time capsule. The Brownig BSS' were made from 1972 till 1987 by Miroku Firearms LTD. in Japan. Fit and finish on all parts and the action to barrel fitting is superb. The Chopper Lump joining method of the barrels resulted in superior shot regulation and robust barrel strength. Browning contraced Miroku Firearms LTD. because of Miroku's reputation for high quality for all their grades of firearms. For the working man, this resulted in an exceptional value and gave the exact same features of "high dollar" imported guns form "across the Pond." Many guns wore out, but the BSS was made to "wear in." In 1987, the last of the BSS shotguns were built. Interest in Side by Side shotguns was waning because of the Over and Under craze and semiautomatics. However, the real factor was that the cost of manufacturing Side by Sid shotguns was very expensive, especially using high quality steels, chopper lump barrel joing, and the labor intensive hand fitting of the action to the receiver. To really manufacture a Side by Side shotgun that regulated well, that was of overall high quality became cost prohibitive and it was no longer profitable for Browning to sell those BSS shotguns for such a good price any longer. Thus, the BSS was history. Browing has no plans to make a Side By Side shotgun for the middle and lower maket again. One may order and purchase a Browing Belgian-made Sid by Side of excellent quality, but a person would spend over $12000.00.
A side note: SKB ARMS- SaKaBa of Japan, a competitor of Browing/Miroku, closed its doors for good back in 2010. Quality really does come at price. SKB ARMS now manufactures in turkey and sells guns of lesser quality for $2000.00.
