Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: One of the earliest breech loading U.S. Military long arms, these guns were manufactured at Harpers Ferry Armory and by several contractors, the most famous of which was Simeon North of Middleton, CT., circa 1830 to 1836. He produced a total quantity of 5,700, and this rifle is one of his, dated 1831. These guns were all .52 caliber with rifled bores, and were loaded by inserting a paper cartridge, base first, into the front of the breech block. By the late 1830's, many of these guns were being converted to percussion ignition and most saw service in the war with Mexico.
