Description:
Civil War Remington New Model Army Revolver - Cal. .44 - 8" Bbl. - SN 119254(1864) - all matching on frame, barrel, and cylinder. Bore is excellent - bright and shiny with sharp rifling - shows some very minor roughness in spots - will grade 8 + of 10. Tight, crisp action with perfect timing and lock-up. Metal is excellent with sharp markings and no rust, pits, or corrosion - perfect nipples and screws - proper sub-inspector's marks on barrel, frame, cylinder, and guard. Barrel retains 90% + blue with sharp edges - lever 85%-90% - cylinder 85% with some thinning - frame about 80% with some spots of thinning - back-strap 80% thinning blue. Grips have been very nicely refinished and are undamaged with good fit to metal - outline of cartouche is faint but visible. An exceptionally nice New Model Army that except for grips, is all original and in excellent overall condition - a very popular US Martial revolver that will make a fine addition to a Civil War collection !
