Mauser Rig (Code 42) Luger P.08, Dated 1939/ 1938 /Stuttgart, 9 mm, Serial Number 65XXu.
Also included is two Aluminum bottomed extruded magazines. Sharp and bright with very little finish loss. The retained original blue is, at the worst case, 97+%. The loss is contained to the muzzle, sharp edge silvering and the usual side plate rub. There are no pits, rust or flaking anywhere. The gripstraps show no graying.
All numbered parts match. The slide is stamped Eagle/65, Eagle/65, Eagle/ Swastika. The barrel and the toggle are stamped Eagle/Swastika. The dark walnut grips show little use. The left panel does have a small pressure dent towards its rear. However, there are no splits, chips or cracks anywhere. The grip screws are unmarred.
The bore is just about factory new, brilliant as a mirror and scalpel sharp with no sign of graying. This gun is a great base for the complete rig.
The dark brown holster is in great shape, all seams seem to be intact and there is no crackling of the leather. The internal pistol pull tag is still connected as is the pouch for the takedown tool. The holster is stamped, Auwarter & Bubeck/1938/Stuttgart.
Also included is two FXO magazines stamped P.08 and an original takedown tool.
For the serious collector, it doesn't get much better than this. $2895.
