This was truly a pocket pistol, 4.5 inches long with a 2-inch barrel, and weighed only 13 oz. The short butt was difficult to hold satisfactorily, but the recoil of the 25 ACP cartridge was light and the pistol was easily controlled. It was amply provided with safety devices, the original grip and manual locks being joined after gun No. 141000 (1916) by a magazine safety system designed by George Tansley. The standard finish was a rich blue, but substantial quantities of nickel-plated guns were sold and some highly decorative examples are known. The grips were either hard rubber, with "COLT" and a "rampant colt and C" motif. Markings included "COLT AUTOMATIC" above "CALIBER .25" on the right side of the slide beneath the ejection port SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Colts PT FA MFG. CO.
