Description:
NSN, .56 Caliber, 48” barrel with a lightly pitted bore. This is a handsome gun, reconverted back to flint, with the barrel having a predominantly plum-brown patina with some scattered small areas of mild freckling along its length and some moderate pitting at the breech around the touch-hole. The lock is marked “T/KETLAND/& CO.”, and has a few simple geometric designs along the rear edge. The lock is fully functional, although the mainspring is a bit weak. The full-length, pin-fastened walnut stock is in fine shape having several minor surface scuffs and blemishes along the belly of the butt and wrist, as well as a series of minor handling blemishes on the forend. The brass furniture has an overall dark mustard yellow patina with spots of darker tarnish throughout and the lightly engraved sideplate has abstract foliate decoration. The gun comes with replacement wooden ramrod and is an attractive flintlock arm in good-very good condition. Antique
