Ithaca, U.S. Model 1911 A1, Serial Number 18624XX.
This big fellow at one time must have had its slide replaced. Or had one of the famous early non heat treated slides. The frame shows considerable toning while the slide looks almost brand new. The seller claims that's the way it came home.
In any event, the gun is totally correct. The frame shows no rust or pits anywhere. It is marked on the right side with the crossed cannons Ordinance Wheel, and a #1 on the trigger guard. The right side has the FJA inspectors mark and a "P" proof. The slide is close to brand new and has a "P" stamp on the top in front of the rear sight.
The grips are correct large ring type and unblemished. The bolt face and feed ramp show little use. The grip screws are unmarred. The barrel is a correct "P" stamped High Standard and appears to be as new. The bore is mirror bright with razor sharp rifling.
The gun comes with one correct "L" stamped M.S. Little and Co. magazine.
This gun should be a winner on the range. A real souvenir of the big WWII and reasonably priced. $1895.
