Simonis of Liege, Belgian best-quality bar actions, sidelock ejector with intercepting sears, gold-washed interior parts, striking exhibition quality wood, extra-fine checkering, all the bells and whistles. 'Black-widow' gun with plain blued locks, border engraving, stocked to fences. Sculpted fences with 3-dimensional acanthus leaf design. 3/4" nearly matching extension between stock and leather covered pad by Orvis ca. 1985. 28" barrels, sleeved by Kirk Merrington in 1993, 2 3/4" heavy proof. L.O.P 14 1/2, weight 6 pounds 9 ounces. Articulated triggers. This is an English-style 'Best' gun equal in quality to a Holland and Holland or Libuea-Corally at a fraction of the price, bought by a friend from the late William Larkin Moore in 1984. Health and age are forcing me to carry a lighter gun or I would not be selling it. An absolute steal at $3,000.00.
