Description:
If you collect military pistols and want  one in fine condition  with a unique quality ( limited number made), you just found one. Only about 6000  Aston pistols were were produced with the company name stamped on the lock as "H..ASTON & CO.". The usual stamping did not contain the "& Co." lettering. In addition  this pistol has one nice cartouche stamped  on the left side of the grip and in lieu of a second cartouche, the number "21" appears with some obvious military significance. It is either a military inspection mark, a regimental or unit mark or ??. The lock stampings are quite legible. In addition to the manufactures name we have ( at the rear end of the lock) "Midd. tn " and the year of manufacture, namely " 1852".

The 8 & 1/2 inch bright steel barrel and the lock have almost no staining or other non original marks.. The top of the barrel is stamped : "U.S.", "WN", and "P". There is a captive ramrod  and front brass sight . All of the brass is also in  excellent condition. The wood  has very few marks  and no cracks, splits, etc. There is a small chip on the left side near the barrel forward of the hammer. The action is very strong and the hammer holds on full and half cock. It is .54 caliber and the overall length is  about 14 inches.

This is an antique so no FFL is required. It may be sent directly to a proud new owner.
