SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1879 TRAPDOOR .45-70 CAL. INFANTRY RIFLE. All original and complete except forward sight barrel screw which is easy to replace. Fine condition with excellent markings. All matching and correct as to type with exception trigger which is upgrade Model 1884. Stock original period arsenal replacement without cartouche. 95% arsenal refinish of the period. Looks as issued except the breech block which is blue. Stock with all the finish. Perfect working order. Bore with fowling and corrosion but visible rifling. Great looking Indian Wars trap door.
