Here is another very, very nice rare Dahlgren Bowie knife from the Civil War for an awesome price. 16.5 inches long. Heavy duty Bowie. Black patina on blade. Very light pitting in places. Overall very smooth finish. Blade has no flea bites but handle is a tad loose. Still structurally rock solid. Marked 1861. Ames Makers marks on other side are faded and extremely hard to read. Can just make out MASS with a good pair of glasses. See pictures. Brass has aged patina. No cleaning. Was period sharpened and is razor sharp. Whole blade has dark period aged patina. Great Dahlgren! Passing on the great price received to the new owner. This is in much better shape than the other one I have listed. From my personal collection.
