Description:
Fox CE 16 Gauge SxS Shotgun
SINGLE TRIGGER, EJECTORS, RESTORED TO NEW

REDUCED PRICE!

General Specs: AH Fox, Year 1915, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 9oz, Side by Side
Serial Number: 300426

The A.H. Fox C Grade guns are considered by many to be the most attractively finished Fox guns made.  There are higher grades with prettier wood and checkering, but the C Grade engraving is very tastefully executed.  This is a rare gun, as they only produced 305 C Grade Fox guns in 16ga., only 202 Philly made guns, and likely less than 20 with Single Selective Trigger.  This fine Philly Fox, sn300426, was made in 1915, the heyday of Fox smallbores.  Fully restored to new condition, beautifully restocked with finely figured English walnut showing a full pistol grip butt stock, splinter forend, excellent checkering, and a classy checkered butt.  For the shooter that loves gorgeous wood and needs a longer length of pull than found on factory guns, this is a real find!  The Fox C Grade action and barrels are known for flawless function and great hand engraving.  Now you can have 14 3/8"" LOP from the factory original rear position Fox/Kautzky Single Selective trigger and a fully restored Fox CE without the wait.

The factory 26" number 3 weight Krupp Steel barrels are choked IC/M (.006/.016), minimum wall thickness 32 thou right, 34 thou left, mirror bores, bore diameter .662 both barrels, ribs tight, no dents, dings, or scratches, clear sharp lettering and engraving wedge at breech, 100% rust blue, 2 3/4" chambers, a great set of barrels.

The action has deep chiseled, clear, sharp engraving...better than most C Grades I have seen, strong well timed ejectors, crisp sst, barrels tight on hinge and breech face, excellent screws, 100% case color, 99% trigger guard blue, auto safety, all mechanically excellent.

The well done replacement wood is nicely figured English walnut, superbly checkered to Fox factory specs, hand rubbed oil finish, 14 3/8" LOP to checkered butt from rear position single trigger, 2" drop at heel, 1 1/2" drop at nose of comb, neutral cast, no splits or chips, perfect wood to metal fit, a really nice job of restocking an old Fox to modern dimensions.

This is not a superlight gun.  Weighing 6 1/2 pounds it gives that nice balance for swinging on crossing targets, recoil absorption, and easy carrying through the fields all day long.  There are so few Philly made A.H. Fox CE grade guns with single selective triggers that this is truly a rare and desirable gun.  It is priced to sell, so don't let it get by you!
