A nice example of a sturdy well made U.S. military percussion pistol. A .54 caliber 8 & 1/2 inch round barrel finished in bright steel. The lock, hammer and captive ramrod are also in bright steel. The rest of the metal including the trigger guard and butt cap are brass. The action is very strong. The hammer holds on full and hald cock. The lock is marked "U.S." over "IN JOHNSON". There is a captivr ramrod.
