Description:
Manufacture Liegeoise D'Armes A Feu 12 Gauge SxS
SIDELOCK BELGIUM BEST

General Specs: Manufacture Liegeoise D'Armes A Fue, Belgium, Year 1943, 12 Gauge, 6lbs 13oz, Side by Side
Serial Number: 54901

When I bought this gun I was unaware that the maker was a well known Belgium based gunmaker of fine guns for almost 100 years.  It was one of those cases that I "bought the gun, not the name" as I could see by the features it was a finely made full 7 pin sidelock side by side identical to a few Francotte guns I had owned.  When I researched the gunmaker and found that they were known for high quality guns, that was a plus.  It was a pretty easy decision to purchase, as it has 100% full coverage of fine rose bouquet and scroll engraving by an acknowledged world master engraver Leonard Smeets, perfectly struck barrels of Cockerill Steel (some of Europe's finest), file cut game rib, double under lug locks with a hidden 3rd fastener, articulated (hinged) front trigger, beaded fences, removable striker discs and firing pins, stocked to the fences with nicely figured European walnut with perfect wood to metal fit and drop points, checkered to perfection with fine 28LPI checkering, and perfect balance and a weight of 6 3/4lbs, what was not to like?  This would be a VERY EXPENSIVE GUN TO MAKE TODAY, and is a true bargain for a BEST gun made in 1943.  The gun is like new and mechanically perfect. Look closely at the above features in the photos.  You will not find better craftsmanship in any gun.  With great shooting dimensions and chokes, this is a fine upland or clays gun that you can be proud to show and use.  And at a tiny fraction of the price for a similar quality English gun, you will not break the bank with your purchase.
