Description:
Very rare Take-down model with an equally rare nickle case hardened receiver.
26" full length octagonal barrel with full length magazine tube.
Finish on stock and foregrip is original and intact. Checkering is still sharp and well defined.
Blueing is in 90%+ condition.
Fantastic condition special order manufactured in 1898. The only thing lacking on this beautiful old rifle is factory engraving.
Chambered in 40-65 Winchester this firearm is mechanically sound and perfectly functional.
Small amounts of pitting can be found on end of the barrel near the magazine tube , on the crescent buttstock plate and on the barrel near the receiver.
The bore and rifling are in impressive condition exhibiting strong , sharp and well defined rifling.
This is one of the finest pre-1900 lever actions to be found on the market today , being possessed of many of the most sought after collectible features.
