Description:
BRNO ZKK 602 .375 H & H Magnum Rifle
CUSTOM FEATURES, AFRICA READY

General Specs: BRNO ZKK, Year 1984, .375, 9lbs 6oz, Bolt Rifle
Serial Number: 9937

Read as much as you can about African dangerous game rifles and you will see the ZKK 602 BRNO, or "602 BRNO" mentioned more than any other bolt rifle.  Used extensively by Professional Hunters for African dangerous game, it is noted for its accuracy, ruggedness, and importantly, a 6 cartridge capacity for the .375 H & H Magnum (5 in the mag, 1 in the chamber).  Discontinued in the late 1980's, the standard rifle had a rock solid fixed rear sight for 100 meters, and 2 rugged folding leaf sights for 200 and 300 meters, a true Mauser 98 magnum double square bridge action with controlled round feed and cock on open for reliable feed and fire in life or death scenarios.  The gun was known as a plain jane but utterly reliable and accurate.  Here we have something different for a BRNO 602.  This fine rifle has been tuned by David VandenBrand of West Olive, Michigan, a noted rifle builder and perfectionist.  He has added double cross bolts and recoil lugs to protect the stock from recoil, glass bedding and a custom trigger from an Ed LaPour design (Bremerton, Washington) that is crisp and reliably breaks at 3lbs. with no creep, made by Dave Van den Brand. The safety is an Ed Labour made, Winchester Mod 70 style safety for Brno 602’s and CZ 550’s. LaPour has long served the Mauser/Brno community with custom work, you can find his advertisments in many gun magazines.  These additions were for accuracy, safety, and reliability.  Also added was a classic steel grip cap, an ebony forend tip, recut checkering, an added Decelerator recoil pad, and a nice oil finish.  What we have now is a 602 BRNO with the less desirable points addressed; a fine trigger, reinforced stock, improved safety, utter accuracy, and a far more attractive dangerous game rifle. The work cost over $2000 and really changed the rifle to a custom gun on a solid frame for a bargain price.  Thanks for looking!
