Extremely Rare 9th Calvary marked Spencer carbine. Fantastic gun! The 9th Calvary served in Texas under Colonel Hatch out of Fort Stockton. The unit experienced severe fighting with the Indians in both Texas and New Mexico. The 9th was better known as “Buffalo Soldiers” because they were made up of colored troops. Company K of the 9th was very good about marking their guns. This Spencer has a smooth gray patina on metal. The stock has tacks, maybe Indian use. Gun is all original. Very neat historical gun!
