Description:
This is really an exceptional package...one of those rifles that gets us excited, and makes us glad to be in this business. The Griffin and Howe mount was likely factory installed: below the wood, finished screws...its done PROPERLY. Zeiss Dialyt 2-3/4 scope has vertical post with fine horizontal crosshair, clear optics. Long-tang Lyman 48 has a modified aperture to clear the scope. This is a nice touch, as it can remain on the rifle, zeroed and ready for use in case the scope has to be removed. The stock is made of a beautiful piece of Walnut and has 13-1/2" pull from the trigger over the buttplate. Note the small chip repair on the left, just forward of the buttplate. Checkering is crisp and beautiful, as is the detail on the schnabel fore end. 23-1/2" barrel, with clean, crisp, shiny bore and chamber. A striking feature on this example is the glossy Carbonia Blue metal finish...It actually has a blue tint, more evident in sunlight, that is really attractive. What a neat appearance, compared to hot blue or parkerizing. Mechanically perfect inside and out with a beautiful, shiny bore!
