This gun is classic Pre-War Griffin & Howe and certainly classic Mauser. //////////////////////////////////// This is nice stuff from a classic era and it lived a guarded life in a great collection of big bores; Hoffman's, Pre-War Mausers, Griffin & Howe's and many others since 1984. This piece came into this collection years ago from John Realmuto of Griffin & Howe fame. It was one of his personal guns and he knew it would have a good home and would be well carried for by one of the great gun custodians. As my friend Wal Winfer from Melbourne said, "We are but temporary custodians of all things on this planet. Treat the old pieces gently. Load and shoot them with care. But, above all, preserve their integrity for the future enjoyment of other temporary custodians.
