Y.: A 338 Winchester Magnum Pre-64 Model 70 G&H Sporter Made about 1961 with a 24" barrel, 1/4 rib with 3 folding sights, A band front ramp with a sight protector, Barrel band swivel, G&H side mount that is installed exactly like G&H did them with blind screws inside the rail, Leupold 2x7, Five panel teardrop bolt knob checkering with engraving, Checkered trigger face, Pre-64 3-position Model 70 safety, Jeweled bolt and follower; Matted 1/4 rib, Sight blades & Front ramp, Model 70 bottom metal, Classic G&H stock with a ebony forend tip, Wrap around point pattern checkering, Steel grip cap, Shadowline cheekpiece, Sling eye on the stock, Gold escutcheon, 13 1/2" LOP over a 1" pad, 8 lbs. & 8 lbs. 13 oz. with the scope, Excellent piece of wood with very nice color & contrast, The original blue is 99%, The original stock finish at 98%, The checkering is 99%, The bore is as new. I am not sure but I don't believe it has been shot since it left New York City as it has no signs of such any place where there is a tell-tale sign. This is a neat Sporting Rifle with the usual touch of Griffin & Howe.
