Very nice Kentucky/Pennsylvania long rifle,manufactured by Jacob Bender(1740-1828) in Lancaster Penn.This exact rifle is featured in James Whiskers book "Behold the long rifle again on page 120.Overall length is 58" and barrel is 43 and 1/2" Marked at breach behind rear sight in script"J Bender"Lock is marked "Warranted" and is an excellent re-conversion in the proper style to the period .Approx .60 cal.with poor bore ,no evidence of being cut. Original full stock with lots of fine tiger stripe in maple. Beautiful pierced brass patch box with engraving. Bender was a noted maker in the "Golden age" The book comes with gun .
