Description:
This is a good to very good 1853 Sharps percussion carbine in .52 caliber. Bore has good, deep rifling which is dark and minor pitting. The saddle ring and bar are missing which can be purchased at the rifle shoppe in Oklahoma. There is a small screw hold drilled in barrel for a replacement rear sight. Hole
could be plugged if you wish. Wood is only good with nicks, dings and scratches. There is a large piece of wood re-glued back on front side of forearm. These were damaged when block is dropped without firing and powder builds up inside of forearm. The markings are sharp and metal is smooth with a nice brown patina.
