Offered here for the serious Winchester collector is an early 2nd Model Winchester 1873 in the original caliber .44-40. Serial #37XXX was manufactered in 1879 per the Cody letter which is included. It features a highly desirable thumb-print dust cover, and 80% blue remains. It is fitted with a half or button magazine. What is unusual about this Winchester is that It has a full octagon barrel which is scarce, as most button mag rifles featured round or half round/half octagon barrels. The bore is good, and would rate a 7.5 on a scale of 1-10. A tang sight was added at some point in this rifles long life. Feel free to contact the Seller with any questions.
