. Beautiful custom rifle by one of America's best builders. Pre 64 action with 2 panel checkered bolt handle. Bolt body, extractor, follower & right action rail have fine machine jeweling. Blackburn bottom metal with release in front of trigger guard. Bbl. is post 64 classic sporter style with Winchester markings & proof. Top of bbl. marked "DALE W. GOENS". Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8x gloss finished scope with duplex reticle. Burris 1 piece mount. Metal retains 99% fine rust blue. Scope finish acquiring a plum cast. Excellent bore.
Classic cheekpiece stock of exhibition Circassian walnut. Stock features include ebony forearm tip, checkered steel grip cap, Pachmayr flush mounted detachable swivels & Niedner checkered steel trapdoor buttplate. Outstanding segmented Fleur De Lis 24 line hand checkering. Stock finish shows a few sm. marks.
UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1976 Gun Digest. This rifle is pictured on page 233 with the following caption "DAN GOENS/Unusually fancy figured exhibition grade Circassian walnut, from Russia, graces this handsome 270 rifle made for Dr. Peter Fenchak. The action, a pre 64 M70, has Blackburn's guard; the ribboned fleur de lis checkering in 24 line.
