Description:
Serial #PF24774, .303 British, 25” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1952-made, “ENGLAND” marked example that appears to have been arsenal reconditioned to target rifle configuration with sharply refinished metal that retains 99% of the new matte blue finish and select walnut stocks. The metal has very little wear evident and, even though the markings are very faint now, the edges and projections are sharp and crisp. The correct, unnumbered bolt has slightly more wear than the rest of the metal along the bearing surfaces. Furthermore, the rifle is equipped with a rare Parker-Hale PH4 rear micrometer sight with 6 aperture tubular eye-piece and tinted filter. The walnut stock and handguards are in excellent condition with only a few very minor handling marks scattered about the otherwise pristine finish. The buttstock has nicely feathered wood with a lightly polished brass buttplate and both a correct, non-matching magazine, and period leather sling are included. This is a splendid No. 4 target rifle and is in excellent overall condition. FFL or C&R
