Description: This is a complete set which consists of the large medal, miniature medal, and two rosette studs. The large medal has a black silk suspension ribbon with die-struck stand of arms and gilt, enameled Cross of Jerusalem. The large medal is in fine condition but is missing the small enamel cross once affixed to the center of the breastplate and there are some loose threads on the silk ribbon of the miniature medal. Additionally, there are some loose threads on the miniature ribbon and some mild tarnish on the metal as well. The items are housed in their original red leatherette presentation case with off-white velvet lining. The Order of the Holy Sepulchre is one of the oldest of the Papal chivalric orders and is still in existence today (the current knight's rank decoration is nearly identical but is now a neck order). This is a very nice piece of Vatican/Catholic regalia and is in fine condition overall. SOLD Model: Insignia |
