Payment Types Accepted: checks, cashiers/bank check, money order Description: UNUSUAL AND VERY ATTRACTIVE BRASS RECEIVER TRAIL GUNS ARMORY .58 CALIBER PERCUSSION "TEXAS CARBINE," I believe these were made by the Mowry Gun Company of Olney, Texas in the 1970s, this one is simply marked on the right side of the barrel " TRAIL GUNS ARMORY" and on the left side "TEXAS CARBINE 193" and "1 of 1000" on the top of the brass receiver (I don't think they made a thousand of these). A Google search for Trail Guns Armory says they were an importer of the Davide Pedersoli Kodiak double rifles, but these distinctive brass frame Ethan Allen style replicas were only made by Mowry of Texas, to my knowledge (I bought a brass frame Mowry sporter from Dixie Gun Works back in the 1970s when I was in college "Made in..." markings, plus, why would Pedersoli or any Italian manufacturer of the time make a "Texas Carbine 1 of 1000"? Yet, a company in the state of Texas certainly would! Has a brass "State of Texas" star medallion in the right side of the butt stock, heavy brass crescent butt plate, blued steel 24" octagon barrel, blued trigger and hammer, brass frame, ramrod thimbles and forend cap, buckhorn and blade open sights, brass saddle ring on left side, single trigger- half cock notch weak and needs to be re-cut- easy fix, exc. bore, only a few light handling marks on the bottom of the stock, exc. overall. Great looking! SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: Mowry Model: Texas CArbine 1 or 1000 Serial Number: 193 Caliber Info: .58 Condition: Excellent Barrels: 24" oct |
