FERDI, FRVWIRTH PERCUSSION GERMAN SCHUETZEN RIFLE, marked on top of the bbl. in silver "Ferdi. Frvwirth in Wien", engraved with some gold inlays, 31" heavy full oct. bbl., about 55 cal., bbl. is slightly swamped on the end with gold band around the muzzle, rear of bbl. also has gold inlay, frame has gold stag lying down & a gold boar on the tang of the breech area, original tang adj. peep sight that is also engraved, very fancy original open rear sight, bead front sight, lock is engraved with a running stag, opposite side plate is engraved with a stag lying down & a hunter watching a running stag facing the other way, also real fine engraving around the edges, buttplate is engraved with a running boar on the left & a hunter on top of the buttplate & a running stag on right side, wood is exc. & goes all the way to end of muzzle with flared horn tip, checkered forend, carved animals & floral design in stock on both sides, cheek rest inlaid with rosewood, original cleaning rod tipped with horn, all the ferrules for the ramrod are engraved as is the trigger guard which is very fancy, 3 spurs, set triggers, exc. bore, exc. wood, 3 bbl. wedges, bbl. is also inlayed in silver with the name "Hainfelder Gebohrter", also inlayed "Gussstahl", rifling in bbl. is nice & shiny, not worn, platinum blow out plug, also the engraved hammer in the shape of a serpent has 2 gold eyes, old 1" long crack on right side of stock that doesn't go all the way through, it is not open, may have been repaired at one time.
