#3753 Farquharson Safari Rifle, 450 #2, 3 ¼”
This is a single shot 450 #2, 3 ¼” Farquharson Safari rifle. This weighs 9 lbs 9 ounces and with the muzzle brake, has a 27 and 3/8” barrel. The bore is excellent, bright and shiny and the mechanical function is excellent, crisp and tight. The barrel was re-blued when the muzzle brake was installed. The receiver is nicely engraved and also is the lever and tang. The receiver is in the white and the barrel has 100, 200 and 300 yard folding leaf sights. The only markings on this fine antique rifle are the two English inspection marks (Birmingham), which is the Crown over the crossed scepters over V, 1813-1904. The wood was replaced probably at the same time as the muzzle brake was installed. These were very well made rifles.
