In the world of Parker high grade shotguns, it does not get much better than this gun. The AAHE, or Grade 7, was the highest grade of Parker shotguns for many decades. Only a few A-1 Specials and 3 Invincibles were of higher order later in the game. They made a TOTAL OF 185 12 GAUGE AAHE GUNS, ONLY 35 WITH 32" BARRELS. This is a RARE PARKER. This gun, sn204006 made in 1923 is an amazing and perplexing gun. The engraving is the finest you will see on any American gun, with 100% coverage done in bank note scroll with 4 game scene vignettes, gold inlaid serial number on the trigger guard, all of the style typically seen on AAHE guns of that era. With the double beaded fences and barrel wedge engraving this gun is true art. The wood is nicely figured European walnut commonly used on high grade Parker guns, with flor-de-lis carvings and fine line checkering. The beavertail has nearly full coverage checkering and is in superb condition. The Miller single selective trigger functions flawlessly and is known to be the most reliable single selective trigger ever made. Mechanics are excellent with strong well timed ejectors, crisp trigger pulls, non-auto safety with a set screw to lock it in place for competition shoots. A gold pistol grip cap, and a red solid butt pad complete this gorgeous shooting machine. ADD THE CUSTOM FIT HUEY CASE AND ACCESSORIES ($3500 VALUE) AND YOU HAVE A VERY HANDSOME PACKAGE INDEED! The perplexing nature of this gun is that Parker records show it as a VH extractor gun. I have seen upgraded guns, but I have never seen someone turn an extractor gun into an ejector gun to begin a project. They start with an ejector gun. What I have seen, and often, is that the records are flawed or illegible and the gun actually shipped as something different than what the record shows. The rib stamping indicates Peerless Steel and is a stamp, not engraved. All barrel flat stamps show the barrels are Peerless Steel. The engraving and wood carvings are all correct. With the conflicting information on this gun we are forced to price the gun as an upgraded gun, even though it seems more likely the records are incorrect. This is an incredible Parker and could be the pinnacle of your collection. The likelihood of obtaining a fully documented gun is slim and cost prohibitive. What a great gun for clays, waterfowl, turkey, or pheasants, and a superb example of Parker's finest.
